Hope you’re well and all. My wifey was a Hilary-lover, and I can’t help but wonder what it would have been like with her in office. I think it would have still been hard, with lots if white/male dissension, but less of the (white) “I want my country back” stuff. But they seem to gave the same politics, if different approaches. Anyway, I’m rambling, who you voting for? I want a Ron Paul / Jesse Jackson ticket.

Well, I don’t know who I am voting for, as I don’t know who is running.
I gave up my party registration last year, as I was done with partisan politics. I see the party doing little more than serving themselves and not the people.
I would love to see Obama get a primary challenger. There are few in the American political system that I really align with, but the closest would be Sen. Bernie Sanders and Dennis Kucinich.
I just really think that the political system is broken and that we are going to have a really hard time getting anyone decent elected. David Gushee, a Christian Social Ethicist at McAfee Divinity in GA, just wrote a piece about how we are entering a second Gilded Age, which for my money is about right.
This is one of the reason that my main intellectual project right now is working on writing a Political Theology of active non-violent resistance, using MLK as a theological touchstone and the cleansing of the temple as a biblical example.
Anyway, hope all is well in MS. Hope to be there sometime in the next six months. Would love to catch up and meet your wife.
